Though Africa is gradually but not quickly moving towards the practice of democracy as a system of governance, the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa is involved in advocating for positive change and effective implementation of democratic values in the African society. The Centre's advocacy is tilted towards the modification of political institutions and encouraging the population to be actively involved in the political life within their jurisdiction.
It is worthy to note that CHRDA is apolitical in nature and is only interested in seeking the introduction and development of the culture of democracy without furthering the political agenda of any political association. Thus, when human rights are respected, our democratic values are impliedly respected.
We aim at ensuring that democratic principles are being respected, promoted, and protected.
